Yes, friends. This is the best shot I was able to take from our photo session. Super blurry because Miss Katie was feeling playful and wanted to get up already. At 10 months, it’s really hard to get her to lie still!

Also, this is a super delayed post, since her Dad and I couldn’t seem to find time to buy her cupcakes, plus the weather has been pretty much erratic this month, it’s been hard to get any good lighting here at home. But anyway, better late than never!

This past month was when Katie’s stranger and separation anxiety went full steam. I think it’s probably because we stayed indoors a lot due to the weather (rainy, cold, windy!). Maybe it’s a case of cabin fever, but when we visit friends, she doesn’t want to be separated from me. Clingy much!

As much as I could, I really tried to bring her outside in order to play with other kids. When I put her down, she would actually keep looking to check if I’m still around, and she’d be ok. If I’m not in her line of vision, expect a loud cry.

I also asked JP that we enrol her in daycare.  Now in the Philippines, daycare, especially at her age, is almost unheard of. Imagine leaving your baby to strangers the whole day! But over here, it’s quite common. Full-time yayas (nanny) are uncommon (and expensive) over here, so working parents really leave their kids in daycare or a babysitter.

Currently, she goes to daycare twice a week. It’s an additional expense for us, but I think it’s good for Katie and myself too! For Katie, she learns to socialise and gets to play with other kids. For me, I get to do more work around the house, and well, try to look for a job.

She is babbling a lot now, and is more stable when trying to stand up. Hopefully soon, she can do so without holding on to something.

Here’s to hoping the weather next month gets better so we can go out more often. For now, here is her latest cupcake shot!
