An Introduction

I have had this blog (and its several versions) since 2004 (how long ago was that, right?). I used to be an IT professional living and working in Singapore for almost a decade, and writing was a way for me to de-stress and keep a record of life events, and even just the ordinary days.

In 2016, we moved to New Zealand for a simpler and relatively stress-free lifestyle. I am a wife to JP, and mother to two girls, Katie and Patty. I’m also a working mom, so I’m trying to find a balance between those varied roles, like so many mothers out there.

What my blog is about

Notes From our Corner is my way of documenting our family’s adventures and discoveries as we make a home here in New Zealand. I also post recipes that I try in my kitchen, good finds, the occasional DIY project, books that I’ve read, and travel stories. The blog is also part online journal where I put down my experiences and thoughts on marriage, parenting and living abroad.

I hope you enjoy these stories and find something inspiring and useful within these pages. Please feel free to comment on the posts or send me an email.

The fine print a.k.a. Houserules

Most of the views and opinions expressed in this blog are mine. I say “most” because there will be guest writers whose views and experiences will not necessarily be the same as mine. But they’re welcome here, because I’m open to different ideas.

I will monitor and not publish nor respond to any profane, abusive and rude comments.

Most of the images on this site are mine, except where noted (I link to the source and attribute to the owner). Please contact me if you would like to use any of my photos in your website. Photos provided by guest writers for their posts may be edited for size and quality, and will be attributed to the owner.

I never share personal information with third parties–because that’s not nice, and who has time for that?
