Katie turned five months old last week. Taking a picture of her for this series is getting harder–this little lady likes to move!

She is a few days away from going on her first international trip, Italy to be exact. For the past few weeks, I have been reading up on information about travelling with an infant. So much information out there on the Internet, it can get quite confusing. At this point, I already have a list of things we need to bring to keep her comfortable and entertained. We are going on a 14 hour flight from Manila to London, so I am quite anxious about that.

On reading that Italy’s streets are not exactly stroller friendly, JP and I decided to train Katie to get used to being in a carrier. Every morning, these past few days, I’ve been putting Katie on a carrier and walking around the house, just for her to get used to the feeling. Yesterday, we went to the mall, and well, someone got a little too comfortable.

As a fairly experienced traveller, what I do before I go is visualize how my trip is going to be. So I think about what I’m going to wear, to do and the possible “problems” I may encounter during the trip. Visualizing this trip with a baby in tow–well, let’s just say there’s a LOT of scenarios on my mind! First on my mind is making sure she doesn’t get cold! We spent a couple of afternoons trying on her winter wear.

In other news, Katie also celebrated her first Valentines day ever! Look at that pretty face! Note the picture was taken with her nanny behind me, trying to make her laugh, because seriously, it’s hard to keep her still these days.

As for me, I got a nice bouquet of flowers from her dad, with this touching note.

Feb-NotefromJPIt’s nice to be appreciated for my efforts and countless sleepless nights. I really do think that mothers ARE superheroes for the things that they do for their kids. I second guess myself a lot in my decisions concerning Katie, but then again, with a lot of questions to fellow moms, research and my own instincts, I feel more confident day by day.

So we are on to our trip, guys! I will let you know how we did in the next posts! And now! A cupcake shot from Miss Katie!
