News of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s visit to Australia and New Zealand has been the biggest news lately over here. The press has been covering it everyday, especially with the announcement of Meghan’s pregnancy. They were stopping here in Wellington, and so I spent an afternoon with friends waiting to see the couple. Hey, it’s not everyday you get to see royalty, so might as well, right?

We waited for about an hour and a half, and lucky we were just in the second or third row in the crowd. Thankfully, the weather was alright–cloudy, but warm enough. And finally, they arrived! People got so excited seeing the couple. After the ceremony, they went to the crowd and said hello.

Fortunately for us, the lady in front made a clever sign that got the attention of the royals, so they stopped for a few minutes, long enough for us to take lots of photos and videos.

I have to say, both of them were very charming. Prince Harry seems like a regular bloke. He was particularly interested in talking to kids. Meghan is gorgeous, but seems very approachable.

Our waiting time was definitely longer than the time we saw the Royals, but it was a nice afternoon for me and my friends. Hopefully, I get to see Prince William and Kate Middleton next time.
