A separate entry is required for Amer Fort, just because I have a lot of photos! The Fort is the main tourist attraction in Jaipur. To get up to the fort, you can either walk up or, as most tourists do, take an elephant ride. As we were doing the full-on tourist experience, we did the elephant ride. (Edit: 2019-I realize now that doing the elephant ride was a not-so-good thing to do, and considered cruel to animals. Honestly, it was ignorant of me to do so, this was the practice at that time, and I think up to now. Knowing what I know now, I would not recommend doing this).

The Amer Fort used to be the residence of the Maharaja and his families. Inside, is a sprawling compound of courtyards and temples.

Look at the walls, and you will find these adorned with gorgeous carvings, some with precious stones and metals! These are simply beautiful!

We spent the rest of the time, just walking around and exploring the place. We marvelled at the ornate carvings, and just the opulence of the fort.

We reluctantly left the Fort, as we had more to see in Jaipur. It was a good thing that by the time we left, we all had a LOT of photos to document our visit!
