Here are a couple of things that I discovered in 2020 that I totally loved and have been using constantly. In no way are these sponsored posts, I just really like them and I believe that “sharing is caring” when I come across good products.

Products I Liked 2020
All good products!

Happy Hairbrush

One of my friends told me to try this last year when I was complaining that the girls did not like having their hair brushed at all. Katie has very curly hair, so you can imagine what she looks like in the morning when her hair is all over the place. Patty has straight hair, but it all gets tangled up at the back and she is also in that phase where she just can’t be bothered to brush. I am hoping this is “no brushing” phase will end soon for both girls, but in the meantime, Happy Hairbrush has been a godsend!

Happy Hairbrush

It smoothens out tangles easily and less painfully (according to Patty) than our normal hairbrush. For Katie, I usually brush her hair while she’s sleeping and she does not wake up at all, even when I gently tug her hair with the brush.

Tesalate towel (*gifted)

The folks at Tesalate kindly sent me this towel last year and I haven’t gotten around to writing a review. I love this towel because sand easily comes off of it, perfect when we’re at the beach. It’s also not bulky (even comes with it’s own carrier bag), so I can tuck it in to our bag without taking up too much space. It is more expensive than usual bath towels, but it’s gotten a lot of use in our many trips to the beach, and it’s going to be used for a long time, so I feel that the cost is worth it. It’s very absorbent and it dries quickly, so convenient!

Merge Blender

Smoothies have basically been a staple for me these past couple of months. They’ve sort of become my breakfast. The Merge blender is great for a single-serve of a smoothie, it’s definitely not bulky, and very easy to clean up. There’s also no wire involved, because it charges via USB, so you can bring it anywhere. It can be used up to 10-15 times before the battery runs out, so you don’t need to charge very often.

Glow Lab cleanser

I really have a pretty simple skincare routine with specific products that I know work well for me. But for facial cleanser, I’m not so fixated on any particular brand. I’ve been using Glow Lab facial cleanser for about 3 months now, and I have to say it’s been really wonderful. I love the smell, not too overpowering, and my skin feels really soft after using it. It is not very expensive, so that’s a good thing too. I’m also planning to try out the other products in their line.

Kawakawa balm

Kawawa is a plant that’s found abundantly in the New Zealand bush. It is used by Maori to treat wounds, cuts and other skin disorders. I initially bought a sample set of Simply Kawakawa‘s products, which includes a sleep balm, cuticle moisturizer, bug off balm, breathe easy balm and all-around healing balm. I have to say, they really work. The cuticle moisturizer has found a permanent space in my makeup kit, and the other balms are always just within my reach at home. Best of all, the balms smell lovely!

So those are some of my favourite new products from last year. Have you tried anything new lately?
