Saturday. First time to hike Red Rocks Reserve, located on the South side of Wellington. I’ve wanted to walk this area ever since we arrived five years ago, but couldn’t because of the kids, and didn’t have anyone to go with. Our friend, who is leaving New Zealand wanted to do this as a goodbye hike, so I happily agreed to come with. Three of us did the walk. It was very windy, sand flying all around, lots of rocks. But the view of the gorgeous Wellington coast was a reward. The Red Rocks is a favourite hang out of seals, but on this day, we only saw one, that was good enough. It’s definitely a must-do in Wellington.
