I think 2013 was a good year for me on the book-reading end. I was able to complete my 25-book challenge for the year, and I’m quite happy about that. For 2014, I think I’ll be able to manage a couple more books, so I’m aiming for 30. Adding five more will surely not be such a stretch, but we’ll see.
There are already a few books on my reading list, most of them are holdovers from last year. I’m actually making this year more challenging, by reading a couple from this list, just to make progress on of of my Life List items (I’ll post details on another post). I was thinking of reading one classic for every one contemporary book I read, but I’ll see how it goes. Some of those classics look like they’ll require a good investment of my time and concentration, aka. heavy-reading.
Here are a couple of titles I’ll be reading in the next couple of days. I’ll post my thoughts on them here on the blog, and also in GoodReads (let’s link up there too!). These are already in my kindle and iPad (yes, I use both for reading!), so it’s really just a matter of starting, hopefully when Friday rolls around.
Do you have your own reading challenge for this year? What books would you recommend? Share it with me here or in Good Reads!
