Hello. So I feel like this blog is mostly in black and white now, because the only thing I’ve consistently done is my 52-week project. Blogging has taken a back seat (if my life was a bus, blogging would be at the very last row. ?), with all that I’ve been juggling these few months. I work full time, take care of my husband and the girls,  try to be consistent with my running goals, and what little time I have left is used to pursue my little hobbies and projects at home. Break time/”Me” time is  something I am being selfishly adamant about, and this is why writing here has been put on low priority.

Anyway, how are you? How’s it going? Most of my life updates have been on Instagram, because it’s more convenient to do things via mobile these days. However, I do miss this process of writing, putting pictures together and publishing a post out to the world. I like that I still have this medium to document our life, my life, to read and look back on in the future. So, a year or more from now, when I read this post again, here’s what I’m up to in this second quarter of 2021.

Reading

I have recently been on a reading binge lately, I think I’ve read about twenty books so far, which is more than the number I’ve read in the past couple of years. It’s like the dormant bookworm in me had woken up and could not wait to catch up on books I’ve missed. My latest read is the first book of the Bridgerton series by Julia Quinn, which I stopped reading last year. I only resumed because of all the fuss about the Netflix series. I have many, many thoughts about this, and I will do a review of this book, along with several others I recently read.

Oh hello, handsome!

What are you currently reading?

Netflix/Prime/Disney/Apple TV

As if reading is not enough, we recently got subscriptions to Amazon Prime and Disney and a free one-year trial on Apple TV, so the choices of movies and series to watch are unlimited! I have a couple that I’ve watched recently, so that’s also a round-up post waiting to be written. Truth to tell, I have only finished 1 (ONE!) Korean drama this year, just because there are so many other things to watch these days.  Right now, I am watching “Superstore” on Netflix (a good comedy series), Dave Chapelle’s comedy specials, The Fabulous Mrs. Maisel on Amazon Prime, and also planning to watch ‘The Morning Show” on Apple TV.

May Life Updates

The Mom-Cave Project

On Instagram Stories, I recently posted that I cleared out some space in our attic to make room for me and my little projects. It’s almost finished, just small bits and pieces to decorate the space is all I need. There’s still stuff that’s stored there, but for the most part, it’s really my space now. The girls like going up there, and they’ve still got their toys. They’ve liked going up there and watching on the computer, and sometimes playing with their toys.

A New Cross-Stitch Project

I finished my Amorsolo project last year, and hoping to get it framed this year. It is currently on a temporary frame right now, and I’m still thinking if I should DIY the framing or get a professional to do it. I started a new piece early this year, and hopefully get it finished faster than I did the previous one. This one is an embroidery of Gustav Klimt’s “The Kiss”. Quite a complex work, but it will get done.

I took a Photography Class

A couple of weeks ago, I took a 4-session Photography Class here in Wellington. This was a beginners’ class that taught us the basics-aperture, ISO, shutter speed, etc. I’ve owned a D-SLR camera before and I’ve pretty much learned those by myself, but it was nice to get back into taking pictures and learn with other folks. Here are a couple of photos from our class. I plan to take the next advanced course, once I work out our schedules.

Those are just a few of the things that I’ve been doing lately. Sometimes I think that I’m stretching myself out too much, what with all the wife and mother duties plus all these other things. But I actually like juggling all these things, because there is a sense of accomplishment in getting them done. When I feel overwhelmed, though, I know which one to put on pause so I can catch my breathe.

So what about you? Tell me what’s been filling your time these days? I’d love to know!
