Just some photos of gorgeous cherry blossoms here in New Zealand. It’s become a yearly tradition for us to go where these beauties bloom. In spring time, you’ll see one or two cherry blossom trees in some houses here.
But to get really nice photos, we usually go to Aston Norwood Gardens, a 45-minute drive from our home. Here, you can have breakfast, or tea and then afterwards, take a walk around the sprawling gardens. There is an abundance of cherry blossoms here, you’ll surely get a pretty photo. Best time to go is early morning, or a weekday. It gets a lot of visitors.
Another place to see more of these blooms is at Palmerston North, about a two and a half hour drive from Wellington. At the Victoria Esplanade Gardens, a whole street is lined up with these pink flowers.
Cherry blossom flowers don’t last very long. About two to three weeks, I think, before they fall and we have to wait until next year to see them again.
Someday, I’d like to return to Japan for the Cherry Blossom Festival. But for now, I’m happy seeing a lot of then right here at home.
